Magical Motherhood

I am a mother of 2 and I homeschool them both. While my youngest is only 3, our activities are based around building manners and learning. My eldest has shown interest in my craft, which has been a beautiful adventure. I mark all major moon phases on our calendar and she gleefully tells my husband and I, “4 more days until the new moon!”

Using her own savings, she has purchased crystals for her room and has put together a small altar. One of the most incredible activities that they have both adopted is the magic of affirmations.

As a family, we are focused on self development. We love to follow the work of such people as Tony Robbins, Wim Hof and many more. They have been key role models for all of us, and have guided our journeys of spiritual growth.  We have a sauna and cold plunge that we all use. My children will enthusiastically yell out their affirmations while sweating or cooling off. “I am a leader! Defy the odds! Step up! I am happy!” They will even show the initiative to continue these life changing habits on the days that my husband and I are less than keen. They are able to find more positive outlooks faster, and can stay focused with more ease. When they become overwhelmed, they will begin to focus on their breath and return to a calm state. The habits they are learning are becoming so ingrained that when they witness my husband or myself seeming stressed, they remind us to take our deep breaths. I’m grateful for those beautiful little souls, inspiring me to be better everyday.

I do not separate science and magic, as I believe the overlap is far greater than previously perceived. Our minds are incredible tools that allow us to accomplish feats that many would consider impossible. As we combine the magic that nature provides for us, with plant medicine, the power of frequencies and many more factors that are beyond our comprehension, we can change our lives.

The scientific evidence for these activities is becoming more well known. Studies are showing incredible healing taking place when people subject themselves to extreme temperatures. Neural pathways are being created while powerful words are said in repetition. People are rewriting their entire beings, seemingly by magic.

I invite you to try for yourself. Rewrite your thoughts with conscious changes. Speak to yourself and others with kindness and see what happens. Connect with nature by grounding and taking time to witness the endless beauty this world has for us. I promise you, you will be forever changed. When you teach this magical way of being with your children, you set them up for a life of beauty, love and curiosity.

Here are some great studies that show the effects of mindfulness and the practices I’ve mentioned above in the human body.
